The Trunk
2024
As a service to Indigenous storytellers, this collaborative project aims to share the life and legacy of Chief Shingwauk. His descendant, Reverend Lana Grawbarger of Garden River First Nations, shared these stories with us to bring to life through animated projections.
The story of Shingwauk’s Trunk unravels the history of the treasures and memorabilia stored in the trunk. The airing of history was a spring ritual celebrated by Shingwauk’s descendants, and an opportunity to reflect on the importance associated with his belongings and how they represent his achievements.
